Multipitch climbing above the sea in Capo Caccia (Alghero), Sardegna<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Sardinia is well known for beautiful beaches and crystal clear water. But not many people know that it also offers some of the most spectacular climbing in Italy. Very close to Alghero, one of the most beautiful and scenic towns of the island, you will encounter the magnificent cliffs of Capo Caccia. The white limestone drops into the sea for a height that sometimes reaches 100 meters or more. If you are looking for a great place to try multipitch climbing, here you can find amazing bolted routes. There are some very easy ones for beginners, but also harder ones if you want to test your climbing skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Multipitch on the cliffs of Capo Caccia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From the beautiful beaches of Alghero you can see the cliffs in the distance. White limestone dropping down into deep blue sea. Here you can climb one of the many lines that have been established on these walls. You have to rappel down from the top, reaching sea level, and then climb back up. Most routes are bolted with anchors in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capo Caccia is a great place for beginners. Multipitch routes here are very easy (there are also hard ones if you’re interested). We climbed four routes in total. The atmosphere and the environment are stunning. Once you reach the bottom of the cliff you can even dive into the water (but make sure you are able to climb back up!). There is a free parking lot on the side of the cliff and from here you can take the path along the side of the cliff. You will encounter many rings and anchors from which you can rappel. Make sure you have route descriptions and topos because it’s not always easy to understand where to descend. Also, look for up to date information as sea air and humidity can severely compromise the safety of bolts and anchors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
