Climb above the waves in Capo Noli

Capo Noli is a small coastal town very close to Finale Ligure. Here you can climb the first 7a that was ever climbed in Finale Ligure. The beautiful thing of Capo Noli is that it offers climbing just above the Mediterranean, as the cliffs drop from the road to the sea. For most routes you have to rappel down and climb back up. Furthermore, here you can also find some multipitch routes, that traverse all along the cliff. Approach is close to 0, as you can park the car along the road and walk across to the cliff.
It’s probably better to avoid climbing here in summer. The heat is intense and it’s very crowded.
Hidden gem: Grotta dell’Edera
This could be considered one of the most famous caves in Italy. It is very peculiar due to the fact that it has two openings in top, with a bridge of rock connecting the sides of the cave. There are many incredible routes in Grotta dell’Edera. Some of them are really hard, and there is nothing below 6b.
Grotta dell’Edera is a wonderful place to visit, even if you’re not climbing. You can reach it via a short hike in the woods of approximately 30 minutes. In addition, along the way you will go by many different crags, so you can stop whenever you like.

Endless crags
Follow the windy roads that go from the sea to the mountains and you will find yourself immersed in a beautiful surrounding. Hills and mountains with lush vegetation and rocky outcrops everywhere you look. Over the years, climbers have developed climbing routes everywhere in this area. But others you have to walk hours to reach. So what are you waiting for? Start planning your climbing trip to Finale Ligure!
